Dom. Boutet Saulnier Vouvray Sec 2024

Christophe Boutet took over the family estate Domaine Boutet Saulnier in 1997 being entrusted the business by his father. In 2011, Christophe and his wife have practiced sustainable agriculture on their 12 hectares of vineyards and are currently converting their land to be organic. A portion of their grapes are also grown under biodynamic viticulture. The domains vineyards are located just east of the city of Tours in the small Vouvray appellation, neighbouring the famous Domain Huet. This dry silky white wine is made from a selected harvest of the ripest Chenin Blanc grapes avoiding any botrytis to retain an intense and pure fruit. This lean Vouvray Sec is partly fermented in oak barrel to contribute a subtle vanilla character that enhances and mingles with ripe melon and pear flavours which are balanced by a refreshing citrus acidity.
