Sea Smoke Estate Chardonnay 2022

100% estate fruit, hand-picked and hand-sorted in the vineyard before spending the night in the cold room. Gently pressed and the juice cold- settled in a stainless steel tank, racked to a stainless steel fermenter, then inoculated for primary fermentation. Following primary fermentation, racked to barrels, inoculated for malolactic fermentation, then periodically stirred to enhance depth and mouthfeel. Matured for 10 months in French oak barrels (24% new) prior to bottling without fining or filtration.
Elegant in style with aromas of lemon zest, freshly cut melon and honeycomb. The nose is complemented by mandarin and a slight nuttiness in the focused mid-palate balanced by the refreshing cool climate acidity of the estate vineyard.
